Favourite love songs by Mickie Most

When I was a young teenager someone lent my brother an LP record of Mickie Most. I loved that record so much.  It contained many of my favourite love songs. Apparently he had sung at the Bulawayo City Hall, and there was much excitement over him.

1. Think it over

2. Johnny B. Goode – My favourite love song by Mickie Most

To me this song was so exciting, and I remember dreaming that one day my name would be in lights.

3. “D” in love

Cliff Richard had this song out too. This is still one of my favourite love songs. It reminds me of my high school days.

4. Remembered by his daughter

This is very interesting.

5. Heartbeat

I have heard Buddy Holly sing this song.

6. Sea cruise

I have heard this song on the radio by another singer.

7. Money – Honey

I have heard this song by Elvis Presley.

8. Mr. Porter

9. It’s a little bit hot

10. Shame on you boy

11. Paralyzed

I have heard this song on the radio by Elvis Presley. It is nice to hear Mickie Most sing it too.

12. Yes, indeed I do

13. Boney Moroney

14. Shivering with cold

15. The feminine look

Somehow in my memory I seem to think of Mickie Most singing “Corina, Corina,” but I don’t see it listed on the record. So many of those songs remained my favourite love songs right throughout my life. Another one I remember clearly was: “It doesn’t matter anymore.” I have since heard it by Buddy Holly. When we first visited America, I remember driving through Kansas City, and it triggered in my brain that I had heard of that city in a song. So it must have been Mickie Most singing it! My brother went out with a girl called Peggy, so the song “Peggy Sue” felt so real as well.

One summer, my brother and I were on holiday in Margate (South Africa), and we saw him walking on the sidewalk. So my brother asked him: “Are you Mickie Most?” He said: “Yes, come to my show tonight.” As I look back, I wish we had gone to the show. I suppose we didn’t have enough money or something. Soon after that I think he went back to England, and managed a lot of the big names like Donovan, The Animals, and Herman’s Hermits. Anyway, some of his songs have remained my favourite love songs all through my life.

I also have a gospel website, if you would like to check it out, go to: Country Gospel and Bible
