When I was a teenager Roy Orbison had some hit songs. During my high school days, when I started singing at a showground in Salisbury, I was very shy, and wore dark glasses to hide my eyes. When I see photos of him without his dark glasses, it is a bit of a shock. It just doesn’t feel right! He must wear those dark glasses all the time! So here are some of my favourite love songs sung by him.<\/p>\n

Move on down the line<\/a><\/p>\n I heard this song on my neighbour’s record by Cliff Richard when I was a teenager. It felt so exciting!<\/p>\n 4. Sweet dream Baby<\/a><\/p>\n This song was written by Cindy Walker, who wrote many hit songs for Jim Reeves.<\/p>\n 5. Claudette<\/a><\/p>\n He wrote this song about his first wife, and sold it to the Everly Brothers.<\/p>\n 6. Pretty woman<\/a><\/p>\n The movie gave this song a new life with a new generation.<\/p>\n 7. Blue Bayou<\/a><\/p>\n 8. California blue<\/a><\/p>\n 9. In dreams<\/a><\/p>\n 10. Blue Bayou \u2013 beautiful pictures<\/a><\/p>\n I love to be by the sea. Years ago this favourite love song burned within my heart. “Saving nickels, saving dimes, working till the sun don’t shine, looking forward to happier times on Blue Bayou.”<\/p>\n 11. Only the lonely<\/a><\/p>\n This was a big hit when I was a kid.<\/p>\n 12. Running scared<\/a><\/p>\n A very interesting love song. Don’t give up!<\/p>\n 13. Crying<\/a><\/p>\n 14. Unchained melody<\/a><\/p>\n 15. It\u2019s over<\/a><\/p>\n 16. You\u2019ll never walk alone<\/a><\/p>\n 17. You don\u2019t know me<\/a><\/p>\n I first heard this song by Elvis on Clambake.<\/p>\n 18. I can\u2019t stop loving you<\/a><\/p>\n This is still one of my favourite love songs.<\/p>\n 19. No one will ever know<\/a><\/p>\n I have this on a record by Al Martino.<\/p>\n 20. Where have all the flowers gone<\/a><\/p>\n 21. Pretty paper<\/a><\/p>\n I think this song was written by Willie Nelson.<\/p>\n 22. Sweet Caroline<\/a><\/p>\n 23. Mean woman blues<\/a><\/p>\n I love the way Roy Orbison does the growl in this song. I remembering hearing this when I was young. It was different from Elvis’ version.<\/p>\n 24. What\u2019d I say<\/a><\/p>\n 25. Bridge over troubled water<\/a><\/p>\n 26. Blue angel<\/a><\/p>\n 27. Let\u2019s make a memory<\/a><\/p>\n Cliff Richard had a song with the same title, but a completely different song.<\/p>\n 28. Windsurfer<\/a><\/p>\n “I long to go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky.”<\/p>\n 29. Distant drums<\/a><\/p>\n Jim Reeves had a big hit with this song. I didn’t even Know Roy Orbison recorded this song until yesterday.<\/p>\n 30. That\u2019s alright Mama<\/a><\/p>\n I wonder if Roy Orbison copied Elvis, or if Elvis copied him!<\/p>\n Before, when I had favourite love songs on this page, they took all of the links off to the YouTube!
