Donna Fargo<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThe happiest girl in the whole U.S.A.\u201d was the first song I ever heard by Donna Fargo. It is so nice to be happy, and I wish everyone in the whole wide world could be happy.<\/p>\n Jeanie C. Riley<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHarper Valley PTA\u201d was a really big hit for Jeanie C. Riley when I was young, and I wish I could play the guitar the way it is played on the record.<\/p>\n Tammy Wynette<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cStand by your man.\u201d I think this song was a world wide hit. Sometimes it must be hard to be a woman. Men are so bull headed! To me, women are symbols of love, but I think it is the men who start all the wars and troubles in the world.<\/p>\n Brenda Lee<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cSweet nothin\u2019\u201d This was a big hit when I was a young teenager, and I related very strongly with this song. I didn\u2019t know what to talk about with a girl. \u201cMy baby gave me that special look!\u201d<\/p>\n Girl Singers \u2013 The Dixie Cups<\/a><\/p>\n This song scared me when I was a teenager. I guess I was scared to get married. Some parts of the song are very true though: \u201cI\u2019ll never be lonely anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n The Shirelles<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cSoldier Boy.\u201d In my country, the guys had to do military training, and this song was often played on the radio in the request programs.<\/p>\n Debbie Reynolds<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cTammy.\u201d I read the book by Debbie Reynolds, and it was very interesting. She had a hit with this song.<\/p>\n Patti Page<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cTennessee Waltz.\u201d Some people have got it all, beauty and a nice voice! This song was too sad for me to sing, but I don\u2019t mind hearing Patti Page sing it.<\/p>\n Linda Ronstadt<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBlue Bayou.\u201d I love the way Linda Ronstadt hits those high notes. I can\u2019t do that. She sings some good songs. I like her version of \u201cWayward Wind\u201d too.<\/p>\n Nancy Sinatra<\/a><\/p>\n When I was young Nancy had a big hit with the boots song.<\/p>\n Mary Ford<\/a><\/p>\n I have heard Mary Ford on the radio recently and she sings very nice.<\/p>\n Debbie Boone<\/a><\/p>\n We heard Debbie in South Africa when she was there with her dad, and it was a great honour to meet her.<\/p>\n Many of the songs I link to on the YouTube seem to get removed. Maybe they were pirate copies, or maybe they were stolen by the Pirates of the Caribbean.
